Can dry ice clean wheels with ceramic-coated calipers without damaging the coating?
Yes — no acid wash, no abrasion. Ceramic coating preserved.
Verdict
Yes
Ceramic, powder-coat, painted and bare calipers all preserved.
The detailed answer
Ceramic coating on calipers is a cure-coated thin film — typically 50-100 microns. Acid wheel cleaners eventually etch through it. Pressure-washing chips it. Dry ice removes brake dust and tar without disturbing the coating because the pellets sublimate before they can abrade and contain no chemistry that attacks the coating chemistry. Same applies to powder-coated calipers and painted finishes. Pressure tuned around 80-100 PSI on calipers. Wheel face, barrel and well cleaned with similar pressure. Typical $220-$450 per set; off-vehicle for show wheels, on-car for everyday.
