Heritage sandstone needs caution: independent evidence for dry ice on soft or significant sandstone is thin, and much of the published support comes from equipment vendors. Where the conservator does specify it, pressure is capped at ≈70 PSI (≈500 kPa) or lower for soft heritage stone — the conservator sets the actual limit — sample-tested on inconspicuous areas, and coordinated with the heritage architect or conservator throughout.
